Under the 2001 Federal Tax Act, the Federal Estate Tax exemption amount is $2.0 Million per person in 2007 and 2008, increasing to $3.5 Million in 2009. The Federal Estate Tax is scheduled to be repealed completely as of January 1, 2010 (more accurately the exemption amount will increase)
